This week has been all about fighting the January blues, and treating myself to the good things. I’m not talking a Selfridges haul because this girl has to save her dollar or going completely overboard, but those little things that make me feel better, the things that help me whilst there’s still a grey cloud lurking over my head.
I dragged the duvet downstairs to watch Modern Family on the sofa whilst eating too many peanut M&Ms, completely guilt free. I had phone-free evenings, and loved them. I replenished my bathroom drawer with my favourite skincare products that have been sitting around, waiting for me to use. I stopped looking at people’s filtered lives on Instagram.
A girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do.
Getting my eyebrows done – Every time I get my eyebrows threaded, I feel so damn good afterwards, and I walk out of there like a new woman. Plus, a big shout out to the lady who does my brows, she never makes me feel embarrassed or bad for how long I leave it in between visits. The best £13 I’ve spent all month.
This Gilmore Girls mug – I’ve watched Gilmore Girls all the way through more times than I can count, so when I saw this Luke’s Diner mug I knew it was going straight into my basket.
The XX – At the beginning of the month, The XX dropped their latest album, I See You and man it’s good. I’ve been pretty much listening to that on repeat this week with intervals of the Apollo 13 soundtrack. James Horner is an absolute talent.
